The posted compensation range of $22.66 - $30.90 / hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

This job is responsible for supporting patient care in the performance of reception, support and general clerical duties. The incumbent fosters positive customer relations and communications.

Essential Duties

  • Performs receptionist and support duties at the assigned unit; handles incoming and outgoing communications, transfers calls appropriately, greets and assists visitors, answers questions in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintains a neat and organized work environment; orders, stocks and replenishes supplies and equipment as necessary; identifies and reports problems with supplies or equipment; enters equipment repair requests in system, tags equipment and removes from service.
  • Maintains a safe work and patient environment, adhering to the hospital's Safety, Risk Management, Regulatory Standards and infection prevention.
  • Provides general support activities for the unit.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Job Requirements

  • Completion of a recognized Unit Secretary Program (or coursework in a related field), OR
  • Six months of recent related work experience, preferably in a medical setting
  • Certification as a Health Unit Coordinator is preferred.
