Unit Overview
The General Surgery / Bariatric Unit at Duke Regional Hospital is comprised of a 28-bed Surgical Unit. This unit provides care for general surgery, vascular, urology, colorectal, and plastics patients and is recognized as a Bariatric Center of Excellence.Our team consistently works together to provide excellent patient care. We value teamwork, excellence, safety, diversity and integrity in our practice. This unit has a patient population of about 50% bariatric and 50% geriatric. Since this is a bariatric surgery unit, the NAs will use Hoyer lifts.

(3) 12-hour shifts, Nights 7p-7a
General Description of this Role
Independently plan and provide professional nursing care for patients in accordance with physician orders and established policies and procedures. Provide nursing services to patients and families in accordance with the scope of the RN as defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN or Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program.
All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within seven years of their start date.
Experience
24 months of appropriate clinical experience is required.
