Compliance Director, Community Reinvestment Act

The Compliance Director, Community Reinvestment Act oversees the compliance function dedicated to supporting TDBNA and TDBUSA, NA in complying with CRA and in achieving and maintaining an Outstanding CRA rating from our primary banking regulator. The role supports the Banks in the development, implementation, and maintenance of a CRA regulatory compliance program through compliance activities across various lines of business and operating departments. This role interacts with executive management, our key regulators and with industry organizations and community activist groups. The role also leads analytics and reporting related to CRA performance and is a lead in managing CRA examinations by our primary regulator.

Depth & Scope :

  • Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork, and handling any / all disciplinary actions, as required
  • Serves as a subject matter expert on the Community Reinvestment Act and works with the business to oversee compliance with the Act and to support CRA related initiatives
  • Serves as the Compliance owner or resource on projects involving CRA compliance
  • Oversees the compliance function dedicated to supporting TDBNA and TDBUSA,NA in achieving and maintaining an Outstanding CRA rating from our primary banking regulator
  • Supports the Banks in the development, implementation, and maintenance of a CRA regulatory compliance program through compliance activities across various lines of business and operating departments
  • Provides oversight and guidance on regulatory matters and independently assesses whether the CRA Program and controls are sufficient to achieve ongoing compliance with the technical requirements of the CRA
  • Submits regulatory reports / filings to our primary regulator
  • Interacts with executive management, our key regulators and with industry organizations and community activist groups
  • Leads analytics and reporting related to CRA performance and is a lead in managing CRA examinations by our primary regulator

Education & Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • 10+ Years of related experience
  • Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated in-depth working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
  • Proven ability to develop project plans and independently coordinate and complete project
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including a demonstrated ability to clearly provide written reports that accurately and clearly summarize issues and present solutions in an understandable and logical manner
  • Proven ability to influence others' actions and decisions without express authority
