Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled LEAD / Senior Estimator to lead the estimating process for heavy civil and marine construction projects. This involves evaluating project requirements, preparing cost estimates, and collaborating with project teams to ensure competitive pricing and scope accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage estimates from project initiation to contract completion.
  • Review bid documents, perform quantity take-offs, and analyze project specifications.
  • Solicit pricing from vendors and subcontractors to ensure cost-effective estimates.
  • Assess project risks and develop cost-saving strategies.
  • Ensure estimates reflect current market conditions, labor rates, and material costs.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and contract negotiations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 10+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil and marine projects.
  • Proficiency in HCSS HeavyBid and other relevant estimating software.
  • Strong understanding of marine construction techniques and materials.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing multiple estimates and meeting deadlines.
