job_description.job_card.job_descriptionConduct compliance checks of children's files; notify families of expiring documents and follow up to maintain licensing compliance. Ensure accurate and timely submission of ELC portal attendance and required documentation (Monthly attendance reports, RJOA, VPK Short Forms). Act as liaison between ELC and teachers for SmartTeach compliance, ensuring timely documentation and checkpoint completion. Prepare and distribute weekly attendance sheets; review for accuracy and file appropriately. Develop and publish monthly snack menus; ensure timely snack ordering and inventory management with director. Maintain accurate student records, enrollment data, and demographic information. Collect tuition and fees, ensuring proper documentation and communication with families. Manage the school waiting list, respond to inquiries, conduct tours, and assist with enrollment. Complete indoor safety checklists when opening / closing the facility and report issues promptly. Build strong relationships with children, families, staff, and volunteers. Promote YMCA programs and encourage family engagement, including participation in events (some after-hours / weekends required). Assist in planning and executing school events, including supply coordination and preparation. Spend time in classrooms regularly to provide support, cover bathroom breaks, substitute when needed, and conduct observations. Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of the Preschool Academy and YMCA facilities. Respond effectively to emergency situations using sound judgment. Ensure confidentiality of all documents related to students, staff, and operations. Follow all abuse risk management procedures and mandated reporting requirements. Attend all staff meetings, training sessions, and state-mandated courses. Obtain 30 hours of in-service training per year. Demonstrate punctuality, professionalism, and strong organizational skills. Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall goals and objectives of the organization. Must be at least 21 years of age. High school diploma or GED. Completion of all mandatory DCF child care training modules (Parts 1 & 2). Must be in the process of obtaining a Director's Credential and receive it within one year of employment. Bachelor's degree or higher with 12 college semester credits or 18 college quarter credits in Early Childhood Education / Child Development. Minimum two years of experience teaching in an early care and education classroom. CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire. Strong communication, supervisory, and organizational skills. Ability to supervise children per licensing regulations and knowledge of age-appropriate programming. Level 2 background check & 10-panel drug screen required.

Description : Under the direction of the Preschool Director, the Assistant Director is responsible for overseeing daily operations, supervising staff, managing records, and ensuring compliance with YMCA, Early Learning Coalition (ELC), Accreditation, and State licensing standards. This role plays a vital part in fostering a safe, nurturing, and educational environment where every child can thrive.
Duties :
Program & Curriculum Oversight
- Supervise all program areas and staff in the absence of the Director.
- Plan and implement weekly programs incorporating The Creative Curriculum and VPK curriculum.
- Monitor and review weekly lesson plans submitted by teachers; provide feedback and ensure timely posting in classrooms.
- Ensure blank lesson plan templates are available and follow up with teachers who miss submission deadlines.

Requirements :
Pay & Perks : Full-time / Salary, $48k-$50k, commensurate with experience.
