Job Description :
The Correctional Psychiatric Technician (LPT) provides direct mental health care and psychiatric support services to incarcerated individuals within a correctional facility. Working under the supervision of a Psychiatrist or other licensed healthcare professional, the LPT plays a vital role in delivering safe, therapeutic, and rehabilitative care to patients with behavioral health needs.
Key Responsibilities :
- Monitor, assess, and document the mental health status of incarcerated patients.
- Administer prescribed medications, including psychotropic drugs, and monitor for side effects or adverse reactions.
- Assist in crisis intervention, de-escalation, and suicide prevention measures.
- Observe and report changes in patients’ mental, emotional, or physical condition to appropriate clinical staff.
- Facilitate or support therapeutic activities and group sessions under clinical direction.
- Maintain safety, order, and security standards while delivering care in compliance with institutional protocols.
- Complete routine documentation, including daily progress notes, incident reports, and medication records.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans.
- Ensure compliance with all facility policies, HIPAA regulations, and state licensing standards.

Qualifications :
Active and unrestricted California LPT licenseCurrent BLS / CPR certification.Minimum of 1 year of experienceStrong communication, observation, and documentation skills.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-security environment.
