Job Description
This is a remote position.
Join the team at Austell Gas System as an Administrative Data Clerk functioning in a remote capacity. In this remote role, you will work from your dedicated home workspace and support our utility’s data-management and administrative operations remotely. Your remote contributions will bridge the gap between field operations, customer service, and internal teams—ensuring that information flows smoothly from remote inputs to on-site service delivery. This remote opportunity allows you to contribute meaningfully even if you’re not physically in the office, while maintaining constant connection to the broader team.
Although your workspace will be remote, your impact will reach into every corner of our service area, supporting more than 50,000 customers across residential, commercial and industrial accounts. By performing key administrative and data tasks remotely, you’ll help ensure that field technicians, customer-service staff and on-site teams have reliable, up-to-date information. Your role will support remote workflows and remote documentation efforts as part of our mission to deliver safe, dependable natural-gas service to the community.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and enter administrative data from your remote workspace, including customer account details, service orders, correspondence logs and operational records.
Verify the accuracy, completeness and consistency of data entered remotely, working with both remote and on-site teams to reconcile any discrepancies.
Maintain digital filing systems and remote-accessible records so that both field crews and remote colleagues can access information as needed.
Collaborate virtually with remote customer-service staff, on-site operations personnel and administrative peers to clarify data requirements and support remote workflows.
Generate routine summaries, status reports and remote-friendly documentation that enable both remote and on-site stakeholders to make informed decisions.
Support record-archival, version control and audit-readiness by maintaining well-structured data systems in a remote environment.
Identify opportunities for improvement in remote data-entry and administrative processes; recommend remote-friendly tools, templates or procedures that enhance efficiency across remote workflows.
Ensure compliance with data-security, confidentiality and retention standards from your remote work location, adhering to company protocols and regulations.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or certification in business administration, data management or related field preferred.
Previous experience in administrative support, data entry or records management; experience working remotely or supporting remote workflows is highly desirable.
Proficiency with spreadsheet software, database systems and digital file-management tools; comfortable collaborating remotely and leveraging remote communication platforms.
Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks independently in a remote work setting.
Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated remote workspace free from distractions—capable of supporting consistent remote productivity.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to coordinate effectively with remote-based and on-site team members.
Self-motivated, disciplined and able to thrive in a remote role without constant supervision.
Familiarity with data-confidentiality, version control and remote records-management best practices.
Benefits
Competitive hourly rate of $28–$34 per hour for this remote-capable role.
Fully remote work option—perform your duties from your home office and support both remote and field operations without a daily commute.
Flexible schedule built to support remote work, helping you maintain strong work-life balance.
Health, dental and vision insurance for eligible employees.
Paid time off including vacation, holidays and sick leave.
Participation in a retirement savings plan with employer contribution.
