Essential Responsibilities and Tasks :

  • Inspect finger lift prior to use. Complete pre-shift inspection.
  • Sanitize forks prior to use.
  • Read and understand product schedule list.
  • Move product to designated area.
  • Knowledge of HACCP
  • Learn products and WIP codes.
  • Inspect quality of product (soft vs good meat).
  • Input required data (product type and weight) into Condor Record by using handheld scanners.
  • Place product tags on bays.
  • Sanitize outside and inside of finger lift at end of shift.
  • Wash mold from meat when needed.
  • Fill half sheets when product is dropped and take product to inedible.
  • Must plug in (correctly) finger lift during breaks, lunch and at the end of each shift.
  • Always operate finger lift safely by following the required safety guidelines.
  • Follow GMPs, Safety and Quality Assurance rules and procedures.
  • Must wear required PPE.
  • Follow allergen control procedures.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping throughout shift.
  • Report any concerns to a member of management.
  • Must be certified to operate any PIT.
  • Must be LTT certified and follow all LTT procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • High school diploma or GED; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one-or-two step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

    While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and / or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally push and / or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance, vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to physically perform 8 and 10 hours a day.

    While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and / or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. When the employee is required to perform duties in the production area, the employee will be continuously exposed to temperatures ranging from 35 90 degrees. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is sufficient to cause the worker to shout to be heard above the ambient noise level. Personal Protective Equipment is required.
