Senior Manager, Payer Marketing

The Senior Manager, Payer Marketing role supports the market access strategic marketing efforts for the Ophthalmology Rx business unit within Bausch + Lomb. This role contributes to the development and execution of Market Access strategic planning for promoted products within the B+L prescription portfolio, with a focus on Commercial insurance plans, PBMs, and Medicare.

The Senior Manager collaborates cross-functionally to support brand access strategy, new product launch planning, and competitive response initiatives. This role also helps develop pull-through strategies and tactical plans to achieve coverage objectives and profitable access. The position reports to the Director, Payer Marketing & Strategy and requires strong teamwork across Brand Marketing, Pricing / Contracting, Account Management, HEOR, Field Sales, and other commercial operations teams.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Collaborates with Brand Marketing teams to identify access and reimbursement insights and contribute to strategic and tactical recommendations supporting brand strategy.
  • Supports the development of Payer Value Proposition materials and Account Team resources to achieve access objectives across the B+L Ophthalmology Rx portfolio.
  • Coordinates with agency partners and internal teams to ensure adherence to Promotional Review Committee (PRC) standards; supports training for Market Access Account teams.
  • Assists in defining Health Economic Outcomes Research (HEOR) needs and executing evidence generation plans to reinforce payer value propositions.
  • Develops understanding of the Ophthalmology therapeutic area and U.S. healthcare landscape through market research and internal resources.
  • Contributes to development of market access messaging for Field Sales teams to support pull-through initiatives.
  • Partners with Sales Training to support curriculum development that enhances market access proficiency across Field Sales.
  • Collaborates with Strategic Pricing on contracting strategy alignment with brand and market access objectives.
  • Works with Brand Marketing and Analytics to identify payer insights and analyses to inform planning.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of biopharmaceutical experience, ideally across Field Sales, Payer Marketing, Account Management, or Market Access roles.
  • Minimum 3 years of direct experience in Market Access or Payer Marketing.
  • Understanding of Buy and Bill (Part B) vs Part D reimbursement dynamics.
  • Experience supporting Field Reimbursement Manager teams is a plus.
  • Familiarity with utilization management practices across Pharmacy and Medical Benefit products.
  • Strong grasp of payer landscape and evolving market dynamics across public and private channels.
  • Analytical skills to interpret payer-related data and support tactical program development.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence without direct authority.
  • High integrity and compliance orientation in strategy development.
  • Solid knowledge of U.S. payer environment and Payer Marketing principles.
  • Collaborative mindset with cross-functional teams including Account Management, Strategic Pricing, Brand Marketing, HEOR, Field Sales, and Compliance.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective project management and organizational skills.
  • Analytical and financial acumen.
  • Note : This role is eligible for our hybrid work schedule allowing for up to 2 days / week of telecommuting from home and 3 days / week in our Bridgewater, NJ corporate office.

    For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting pay for this role is between $170,000.00 and $200,000.00. The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors.

    U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and / or long-term incentives. They may also be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, disability and life insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, a tuition reimbursement program (select degrees), company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
