Senior Administrative Program Coordinator - Home To Texas, Archer

The successful candidate will work with the staff of the Office of Community Engagement within the Experiential Learning team of Academic Affairs to lead and manage signature internship and professional development programming.

Responsibilities include :

  • Promoting program awareness, recruiting students, and increasing access to both programs.
  • Collaborating with campus and Archer Center partners, including faculty in all CSUs, to spread the word about opportunities.
  • Providing application preparation, information, and professional development sessions for UT Austin students.
  • Coordinating, facilitating, and attending in-person and / or virtual events for program participants in the communities.
  • Creating and managing employer and community relationships to develop opportunities for students.
  • Working closely with other Office of Community Engagement staff to expand stewardship of internship opportunities in communities.

Additional responsibilities include :

  • Recruiting application reviewers and interviewers for a pool of over 100 applicants.
  • Coordinating the application and interview process for selection of students.
  • Overseeing the logistics of interview season by working with administrative associate to secure rooms or other needs.
  • Engaging in timely and appropriate communication with students, faculty partners, and other campus partners about the interview process or selection decisions.
  • Managing project management of complex application-related Excel and other organizational files.
  • Ensuring that stakeholders involved in the application and interview process meet their weekly target goals.
  • The candidate will also :

  • Coordinate annual cohort welcome receptions and other events such as application and interview prep workshops.
  • Represent internships and career experiences at events and meetings on campus, including through information sessions with campus partners.
  • Organize and attend community celebrations to celebrate mutual benefit in communities of Home to Texas students.
  • Organize program reunions and sendoffs.
  • Coordinate assessment of the Home to Texas and Archer programs at UT Austin, including planning, implementation, and reporting.
  • Track program alumni toward developing long-term networking and mentorship connections.
  • Supervising student staff, including graduate assistants and Home to Texas student advisory board.
  • For the Archer program, partner with the UT Austin faculty director and the Archer Center team, and collaborate with other campus and UT System partners, as appropriate.
  • Staying in frequent communication with all stakeholders to communicate program changes or to troubleshoot any issues.
  • Teaching the professional development content within the Home to Texas course.
  • Assisting with course enrollment and scholarship access.
  • Providing one-on-one and group application preparation, information, and program strategy sessions for UT Austin students.
  • The candidate will also champion continued growth and excellence of programs by attending conferences and professional development meetings to help advance the mission of the unit; collaborating with community partners and UT Development to increase Home to Texas scholarship funding; and creating resources for employers, hosting employer orientations, and communication best practices for hosting interns.

    Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and five years of experience coordinating or administering a program; or, Master's degree and one year of experience coordinating or administering a program.
  • At least three years of experience working with college students.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative manner. Professional demeanor. Demonstrated, recent, exemplary work record. Ability to interact in a professional manner with faculty, staff, students and the public.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, using tact, diplomacy, and discretion at all times. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across multiple audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage complex selection processes and multiple stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple complex projects at once and meet deadlines.
  • Prior experience with collecting and tracking data, including experience using Excel. Independent decision-making and problem-solving ability. Must be flexible and willing to take on new responsibilities.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree with three or more years of experience coordinating or administering a program in higher education. Preference will be given to candidates with internship and / or experiential learning program experience, data collection, and understanding of barriers facing UT Austin students that impact internship participation. Experience in community engagement or community relations, or with city or county governments. Excellent interpersonal skills, especially with community and non-UT stakeholders. Prior experience with Canva as a communications tool. Familiarity with J-1, F-1, OPT / CPT is a bonus.
  • Salary Range

    $66,000+ depending on qualifications
