Embedded Systems Engineer (US)

Overview

Embedded Systems Engineer (US) at Siemens Energy. You will shape the electronic heart of our next-generation control panel for step-voltage regulators (C57.15). Your day will include brainstorming circuit and firmware improvements, reviewing C / C++ code on a Linux-based platform, checking schematic layouts in a PLM environment, and validating prototype performance with in-house and vendor teams. You'll move ideas from whiteboard to bench, ensuring the final product is robust, manufacturable, and field-ready.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and debug embedded hardware / firmware systems interfacing with power-system sensors, actuators, and communication networks
• Develop embedded software in C / C++ for microcontrollers and processors (Linux / RTOS on ARM, Bare Metal on TI-MSP430) for signal processing and system control
• Create and execute board-, system-, and environmental-level test plans to ensure compliance with functional, safety, and EMC standards
• Analyze lab data, prepare technical reports, contribute to design reviews, and ensure traceability to C57.15 and internal performance metrics
• Collaborate with external design partners and internal teams to review schematics, layouts, and code; manage issues and drive corrective actions
• Serve as the primary engineering contact for customer interactions and technical teams
