Position Civil Roadway Designer
Location This position will be based in any of our following offices - Rapid City, SD; Omaha, NE; Bellevue, NE; Lincoln, NE; Grand Island, NE.
What You Will Do Perform fundamental analysis, design calculations, design reports, roadway design modeling, and coordinate drafting project elements with the design team.
Advance design expertise from start to finish on a variety of transportation projects for state and local transportation agencies.
Compute quantities and demonstrate awareness of relationships; review calculations, organize results for inclusion in the design file, and follow project standards as assigned by the Project Manager.
Establish project goals and milestones, define responsibilities, coordinate resources, and monitor project progress.
Design and model simple to complex mill and pavement rehabilitation and reconstruction projects.
Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or a related discipline required
Desire to obtain E.I.T (and pursue P.E in the future)
Experience performing design efforts and plan development for Transportation projects (including roadway, traffic, hydraulics, erosion control, etc.)
Knowledge of Microstation, OpenRoads Designer, and Microsoft Office
Ability to work and collaborate in a team environment on challenging projects
Willingness to be adaptable to office and field project site inspection tasks to support project design
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to thrive in deadline-driven environments
