About The Position
Job Title : MRI TechnologistJob Specialty : MRIJob Duration : PermanentShift : Night Shift (Friday - Sunday)Guaranteed Hours : 36.00 hours per weekExperience : Experience with Siemens 3T, GE 1.5T, and EPIC systemsLicense : ARRT (R)Certifications : ARRT (MR) and BLS requiredMust-Have : Graduate of an accredited two-year AMA-approved program in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology or active enrollment in an ARMRIT or ARRT registry-eligible programJob Description : - Perform MRI procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards.- Operate MRI scanners and associated equipment with high proficiency.- Examine requests and verify orders for each assigned patient, referring questions to the Radiologist as needed.- Ensure proper patient identification using two identifiers and offer a brief explanation of procedures.- Prepare patients for procedures with full explanations and document on appropriate worksheets.- Conduct thorough interviews with patients to obtain complete medical histories.- Review medical records for pertinent clinical history and record this information on requisitions.- Correlate test results and laboratory data with exams being performed.- Prepare and administer IV contrast following departmental protocols, and document contrast type and amount.- Evaluate the technical quality of images and consult with a Radiologist when needed.- Recognize abnormal anatomy and create additional images or measurements as necessary.- Practice patient care functions, including informing nursing personnel of any changes in the patient's condition and initiating life support measures if necessary.- Assist in code blue procedures during medical emergencies.- Assist physicians / physician assistants during invasive procedures, following proper sterile techniques.- Maintain knowledge and skills required for safety in environments with exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases.- Follow hospital fire and safety procedures, attend in-service classes, and complete required safety modules.- Operate radiology computer systems for entering orders and charging procedures / supplies.- Maintain neat, orderly, and stocked work areas, ensuring cleanliness in the workplace.- Assist other medical personnel during exams or services in conjunction with MRI scans.- Maintain knowledge of MRI safety requirements for staff and patients in magnetic fields.- Report malfunctioning equipment as needed and adhere to radiation safety guidelines to prevent exposure.- Participate in competitive benefits, merit increases, and performance-based incentive programs.
