Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details Assignment Type : Locum tenens (Travel Nursing Contract) Location : Utica, NY 13502 (Central New York nursing jobs) Unit : Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) – Cardiac Stepdown Start Date : November 24, 2025 End Date : February 22, 2026 Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12-hour days (6 : 30am – 7 : 00pm) Hours per Week : 36 (guaranteed) Estimated Weekly Salary : $2180 - $2240 per week Floating : Required to other nursing units as needed Scrub Color : Navy Blue Patient Population : Adults (18) Unit Size : 64 beds (including 15 Neuro beds) EMR : EPIC Registered Nurse Qualifications Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license (NURSYS verification required) Minimum 2 years of recent IMCU, PCU, or Cardiac Stepdown RN experience (travel nursing experience preferred) Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications Proficiency with EPIC EMR Two recent IMCU Charge / Manager RN references Completed skills checklist for Cardiac Stepdown or IMCU specialty Valid driver’s license with matching address Ability to float to other hospital units as needed At least 1 year of experience required Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients in the Cardiac Stepdown / IMCU setting Monitor and manage patients with complex cardiac, neuro, trauma, and respiratory diagnoses (including COPD, DKA, sepsis, MI, CV stepdown, post-op) Operate and monitor specialty equipment : temporary pacers, chest tubes, arterial lines, BiPAP, Neptune Vapo, and chronic vents (with RT support) Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes Accurately document patient care in EPIC EMR Float to other nursing units as required Comply with hospital policies, procedures, and safety guidelines Ready to take the next step in your nursing career?
