Colocation Facilities Engineer Associate

Overview

Oversee new common system and infrastructure installation / capacity augment projects. Monthly common system capacity reporting for assigned facilities. Day to day maintenance and PMs of assigned FirstLight facilities. Subject matter and special task per management assignment. This role has combined responsibility for data center process and compliance activities. Responsible for Physical security at the data center – enroll new customer, escort customers, shipping / receiving, Generating reports, Data Entry.

Responsibilities

• Oversee installation, repair, and routine maintenance for each assigned facility asset and ensure coordination with internal resources, contractors / vendors for existing facilities and new construction, cabinet installations and service cross connections.

• Perform monthly common system capacity reporting for assigned facilities.
• Handle day-to-day maintenance and preventative maintenance activities for data center infrastructure.
• Maintain combined responsibility for data center process and compliance activities.
• Ensure physical security at the data center : enroll new customers, escort customers, manage shipping / receiving, generate reports, and data entry.
• Manage access procedures for all sites within area of operation and oversee contract labor for end-to-end installation, testing, turn-up, and maintenance of all infrastructure and common systems related projects.
• Participate in on-call rotation and be available as essential personnel in emergency scenarios.
• Assist with Field Operations installation tasks when necessary and complete special projects as assigned.
• Handle Security services at the Data Center — access control, data entry, shipping / receiving, customer escorts, and related items as needed.

Qualifications

Position Expectations : Overall common systems operations and maintenance of FirstLight facilities, accommodating customers, contractors, and internal colleagues. Coordinate projects with Facilities Director, department managers and project managers. Adhere to budgets and the formal bid process (including scope development, bid site walks, bid open and close scheduling). Manage multiple contract service providers and projects simultaneously.

Occasional overnight travel may be required. Employee will be required to work and drive, in all-weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may occasionally have noise from power equipment and tools.
