Description :
To perform exams in the Radiology Department as ordered by the attending physician.
This may include X-rays, CT, and / or EKG exams.
Technologist must also alternate night and weekend call with other technologists unless other arrangements have been made.
Must be a graduate of an accredited Radiology School.
Must be registered as a current member of the ARRT or registry eligible.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills are required.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary.
Safeguarding the privacy and security of protected health information in any form is essential.
A professional attitude, leadership role, and team member abilities are expected.
Maintaining a positive professional role throughout the facility and community is important.
Familiarity with and adherence to all facility and department safety policies and procedures is required.
Performing day-to-day exams of the Radiology Department is part of the responsibilities.
This includes X-ray, CT, and EKG exams.
Technologist must be knowledgeable and proficient in the areas of x-ray, CT, and EKG exams.
If additional training is necessary, the technologist must be willing to attend educational classes and / or training within the area of need.
Promote and maintain a professional, efficient, productive, and friendly atmosphere for patients, co-workers, and physicians.
Maintain diagnostic imaging equipment and materials.
Positioning patients for diagnostic imaging examinations is required.
Advising and supporting patients is essential.
Following physician orders to ensure accuracy of image capture is mandatory.
Shielding patients from unnecessary exposure to X-rays or radiation is critical.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
The work area is mainly in the Radiology Department but may include various other departments.
Age of patients varies from neonates to geriatrics.
The department is staffed 10 hours per day with on-call after regular hours during the week and / or weekends.
ARRT certification and relevant licenses are needed.
Must be able to start IVs.
Weekend and on-call duties are required.
