Quality Technician

Department :

004050 – QA / QC Interior / Exterior Products

Location : Lebanon , KY

Shift : Salary (8am – 5pm)

SUMMARY

The function of the Quality Technician is to support Quality Engineers with launch activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Measure parts using lab equipment and fixtures and record on sample data sheet

Prepare customer part approval documentation

Floor Audits – team member x standardized work, documents and part quality

Attend and document trial events (A,B,C and HVPT) and follow up meetings

Package and ship trial parts to customers

Package and ship trial parts to TG Japan for performance testing

Attend internal launch meetings and daily PPCC meeting

Make copies of drawings and other documents as requested

Problem solving / customer complaint report out

Other Necessary tasks as requested by QA Manager or QE

Develop CIS

Develop Checking Fixture Instructions

Develop MQC / Control Plans

Gage R&R

Inspect parts

Maintain awareness and understand the roles and responsibilities regarding the environmental policies, management system, and objectives and targets by attending the required training. Perform all tasks in accordance with the EMS procedures and practices and minimize the impact of their activities on the environment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duties satisfactorily. Knowledge of SPC techniques

Working knowledge of use of inspection / measurement tools (calipers, micrometers)

Ability to travel up to 10% – mostly domestic with possibility of international

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Clear, concise written and verbal skills and problem-solving skills required. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of team members.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Computer proficiency with MS Office products, particularly Excel.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED WORK HOURS

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m. Occasional overtime throughout the week and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
