Principal Manufacturing is seeking an Training Specialist to join our team in Broadview, IL. As a leader in fineblanking, conventional stamping and plastic injection molding, Principal Manufacturing sets itself above the competition.
The Training Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing training certification programs for production employees at all levels, assessing training needs, conducting or coordinating training sessions, aligning appropriate trainers to trainees, evaluating training program effectiveness, maintaining training records, ensuring compliance with regulations, coordinating with other departments, and continuously improving training programs. The training specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring that employees have the knowledge and skills needed to perform their jobs effectively and safely. This role requires effective collaboration with plant supervisors and engineers to ensure new operators are adequately trained to meet the safety, quality, and productivity standards expected by PMC and its customers.
Essential duties and responsibilities :
- Develop and implement training programs
- Assess training needs and develop plans to address any gaps in knowledge or skills within the certification programs.
- Evaluate training effectiveness to ensure the programs are meeting the needs of the employees and organization, while making necessary adjustments as needed.
- Maintain training records, including attendance, performance, and completion of certification programs.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards, as applicable
- Coordinate with other departments, to ensure that training programs align with specific business needs
- Continuous improvement of training programs, specifically by staying up-to-date with industry best practices and seeking feedback from employees and leadership.
- Coordinate and align appropriate trainers to trainees
- Support coordination of new hire orientation and facilitate, as required.
- Prepare trainee packet for distribution; inclusive for training plan
- Monitor training performance to schedule and maintain; inclusive of skills development program
- Assist with timely completion of reviews / assessments
- Conduct Train the trainer sessions and maintain trainer qualification program
- Ensure new employees receive adequate safety training prior to working on shop floor.
- Works with process engineering to ensure standard work exists and is adequate for new employees to follow.
- Resolves training problems on the production floor and assists in Root Cause Analysis, creating standard work when gaps are identified.
- Report out to leadership on a bi-weekly basis on the status of training program

Requirements :
High School Diploma / GED or the equivalent work experience.Minimum 4 years of related work experience with developing and maintaining training programs within a manufacturing environment (or equivalent)
