Ferrous Processing and Trading (FPT) is one of North America's premier processors, buyers, and recyclers of scrap metals of all kinds and is a key supplier to the metals industry of North America. FPT is a wholly-owned business of Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opportunity for a Yard Manager at the Cleveland, OH location. The Yard Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the activities of employees and administering policies and procedures that will contribute to the site's operations running efficiently.

Summary Responsibilities

• Assigns and schedules daily tasks and workloads to meet production goals.
• Ensures all materials, equipment, and tools are available and in working order.
• Confers with plant personnel and plans and allocates the use of materials. Handling equipment such as conveyors, cranes, tractors, and trucks.
• Inspects incoming materials and verify invoices.
• Inspects machines and equipment and directs workers engaged in maintenance and repair work.
• Studies production schedules and estimates worker-hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
• Interprets company policies for workers and enforces safety regulations.
• Interprets job orders to workers and assigns duties.
• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
• Maintains time and production records.
• Works with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
