Wayne HealthSports is seeking a dedicated full-time Athletic Trainer to join our sports medicine team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive care for student-athletes, preventing injuries, evaluating and treating injuries, and promoting overall physical health and wellness. This role reports to Sports Medicine Manager and Director of Rehab Serv.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training required, Masters preferred.
- Certification by the Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers
- Athletic Trainer licensure in Ohio
- Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification
- Previous experience working as an athletic trainer at the high school level preferred
- Knowledge of injury prevention, rehabilitation, and emergency medical procedures
- Knowledge of sports psychology and general health and wellness practices
- Ability to perform physical tasks related to the care of the student-athletes
Responsibility :
Expected to travel and attend functions at various locations both within and external to the hospital such as athletic events.Provide first aid and immediate medical attention for athletic injuries and conditions.Maintain accurate records and reports, including documentation of injuries, treatments and rehabilitation programs.Ensure proper use of athletic equipment and facilities to minimize risk of injury.Communicates with athletes, coaches, parents and school staff when needed.Provide educational resources about injury prevention, emergency protocols, and health and wellness.Provide injury assessments and care during practices, games, and other athletic events.Offer injury prevention, rehabilitation services, recovery plans to athletes, parents and coaches.Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
