Job Overview
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a dedicated Registered Dietitian to join the clinical team at the Caro Center . In this role, you will provide nutritional assessment, counseling, and meal planning for individuals receiving inpatient behavioral health services. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Monitor and evaluate patients’ nutritional status and progress.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to integrate nutrition therapy into overall treatment plans.
- Provide education and counseling to patients and staff on nutrition, wellness, and dietary management.
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and facility dietary regulations and policies.
- Participate in menu development and oversight to ensure meals meet patient needs and dietary standards.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with requirements.
Qualifications
Licensure : Active Registered Dietitian (RD / RDN) credential.Education : Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field from an accredited program.Experience : Minimum of 1 year of clinical or behavioral health nutrition experience preferred.Skills
Strong clinical nutrition and assessment skills.Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.Knowledge of therapeutic diets and behavioral health nutrition practices.Additional Requirements
