Registered Dietitian – Psych Setting

Location : Caro, Michigan (On-site)

Position Type : Full-Time

Schedule : Monday–Friday, 8 : 00 AM – 4 : 30 PM

Pay : $38 / hour, paid weekly

Job Overview

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a dedicated Registered Dietitian to join the clinical team at the Caro Center . In this role, you will provide nutritional assessment, counseling, and meal planning for individuals receiving inpatient behavioral health services. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by promoting health, recovery, and well-being through evidence-based nutrition care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments and develop individualized care plans.
  • Monitor and evaluate patients’ nutritional status and progress.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to integrate nutrition therapy into overall treatment plans.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and staff on nutrition, wellness, and dietary management.
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and facility dietary regulations and policies.
  • Participate in menu development and oversight to ensure meals meet patient needs and dietary standards.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with requirements.

Qualifications

  • Licensure : Active Registered Dietitian (RD / RDN) credential.
  • Education : Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field from an accredited program.
  • Experience : Minimum of 1 year of clinical or behavioral health nutrition experience preferred.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets and behavioral health nutrition practices.
