Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly driven Lead Commercial Superintendent to oversee the construction of a landmark arena project in Reno, Nevada. This individual will serve as the senior field leader, responsible for managing all on-site construction activities, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule performance across the project. The Lead Superintendent will be the primary liaison between project leadership, subcontractors, and field teams, driving execution on one of the regions most high-profile commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Field Leadership & Oversight
- Serve as the lead superintendent responsible for overall site operations from groundbreaking to project closeout.
- Direct and coordinate all field staff, subcontractors, and trade partners.
- Enforce project schedule, ensuring timely delivery of key milestones.
- Safety & Compliance
- Champion a culture of safety and ensure full compliance with OSHA and company standards.
- Conduct daily safety briefings and site inspections, addressing and mitigating risks proactively.
- Schedule & Productivity
- Develop and maintain the master construction schedule in coordination with project managers.
- Monitor workforce and trade performance, implementing strategies to optimize productivity and sequencing.
- Quality Assurance
- Ensure all work is performed to meet project specifications and design intent.
- Manage inspections, quality control processes, and punch list completion.
- Stakeholder Coordination
- Act as the primary on-site contact for owners, architects, engineers, and consultants.
- Lead weekly subcontractor and coordination meetings.
- Provide regular progress updates to project executives and stakeholders.
- Problem Solving & Decision-Making
- Anticipate and resolve field conflicts, design clarifications, and logistical challenges.
- Drive proactive solutions to keep the project on track.
Qualifications
Minimum 15+ years of commercial construction experience , with at least 5 years in a lead superintendent role .Proven track record managing large-scale arena, stadium, convention center, or comparable complex projects .Deep knowledge of construction means and methods, sequencing, and building systems.Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams under high-pressure, fast-paced environments.Proficiency in scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and construction technology tools.Preferred Attributes
