Salary : $60,000 - $65,000 / yr

Position Summary : The Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist will be responsible for supporting Foster Care and Adoption by implementing existing QA measures that promote child welfare best practice and compliance with ACS and OCFS policies, procedures, and mandates. The QA Specialist will perform functions in three district domains, including : Quality Assurance functions to ensure staff meet required ACS and OCFS mandates; Quality Improvement functions to identify learning needs and gaps in service so that staff always strive towards meeting child welfare best practice; and Accountability Oversight. The QA Specialist will be required to travel between three sites and will report to the Director of Quality Assurance.

Essential Duties :

  • Understand and promote the organization's Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure alignment with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with Caseworkers, Supervisors and Program Directors to ensure timely submission of FASP, Plan Amendments, Permanency Hearing Reports, PYA checklists and other required documentation as mandated by ACS / OCFS.
  • Track and monitor compliance of ACS initiatives.
  • Identify and report out on trends in the compliance required documentation.
  • Assist Director of Quality Assurance in analysis of outcomes measures.
  • Support efforts to engage and encourage stakeholder participation that includes evaluating outcome metrics.
  • Perform case record reviews.
  • Provide formal and informal training to caseworkers and supervisors on policies, procedures and systems.
  • Provide technical assistance with internal and external systems and databases to caseworkers and supervisors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree required, Master's degree preferred.
  • Key Competencies :

  • Knowledge of ACS child welfare and NYS Connections system.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook, PPT, Publisher).
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Exceptional time management skills.
  • Have a focus on outcomes and results.
  • Must have strong writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.

    The incumbent is expected to work a schedule, whether in-person or hybrid, as determined by the department's needs to facilitate effective collaboration with the team. The position's requirements are subject to periodic review and adjustment based on organizational needs and changes in work dynamics.
