The Role

We are looking for a Controller to oversee daily accounting operations, support growth initiatives, and mentor a small office team. This role reports directly to ownership and will play a hands-on role in managing financials, ensuring compliance, and helping train and develop staff.

Key Responsibilities

Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll (manual), and general ledger functions

Oversee journal entries, account reconciliations, and asset depreciation

Handle weekly and quarterly tax filings and reports

Manage equipment purchases, ensuring proper accounting treatment from inventory to rental and depreciation

Support budgeting, cash flow management, and forecasting

Provide training and guidance to office staff

Partner with leadership on financial planning and growth initiatives

Qualifications

Accounting or finance experience (controller, accounting manager level preferred)

Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and reporting

Experience with QuickBooks required; exposure to rental or inventory systems a plus

Hands-on payroll experience preferred

Ability to train and mentor staff, with a collaborative, positive attitude

Comfortable working in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial, family-run business

Flexible and willing to roll up sleeves when needed
