The Internal Communications Specialist supports the development and delivery of communications that keep team members informed, engaged, and aligned with company objectives. This role focuses on creating and distributing content across multiple internal channels, coordinating communications for events and initiatives, and ensuring consistent messaging that reflects the company’s culture and values.

Essential Job Duties

Draft, edit, and distribute internal communications, including newsletters, intranet updates, emails, presentations, and other employee-facing content.

Maintain the internal communications calendar to ensure timely delivery of messages and avoid communication overload.

Support company initiatives and events by preparing communications materials and coordinating logistics for announcements.

Assist with the creation of videos, graphics, and presentations to support campaigns and organizational updates.

Monitor internal channels (e.g., intranet, email) to ensure content remains accurate, current, and engaging.

Provide communications support to leaders and project teams, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with organizational priorities.

Work closely with Operations leadership to craft, edit, and distribute communications that support business processes, field initiatives, safety programs, and operational updates.

Collect and track feedback on communication campaigns, reporting on engagement and effectiveness.

Stay current on best practices in internal communications and propose creative ideas to improve team member engagement.

Handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.

Assume other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Not responsible for supervising employees.

Basic Qualifications

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field, or equivalent experience.

1+ years of experience in internal communications, marketing, or related role.

Proficiency with internal communication tools (e.g., intranet, email platforms) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual (Spanish).

Experience writing and editing for diverse audiences.

Familiarity with graphic design or video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva).

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Frequent use of electronic mail, word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, graphics, etc. Ability to create, maintain and incorporate functions into documents, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations to support business objectives.

Regularly uses moderately complex oral and written skills. May train others in functional areas, interact with others and make presentations to department or middle management.

Problems encountered are routine, somewhat repetitive and generally solved by following clear directions and procedures.

Decisions generally affect one's own job or assigned functional area.

Results are defined; sets personal goals and determines how to achieve results with few or no guidelines to follow; supervisor / manager provides broad guidance and overall direction.

Handle multiple tasks or projects simultaneously with moderate complexity.

Essential Physical Demands / Work Environment

Work is primarily sedentary : must be able to sit for extended periods of time and use a computer, keyboard, and mouse, frequently.

The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds.

Travel may be required periodically, including overnight stays (contingent on position requirements). Minimum overnight travel (up to 10%)
