Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU (PICU) position in California with a valid CA RN license and at least 1.5 years of recent high-acuity PICU experience.

Responsibilities Work in a high-acuity Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) caring for patients from birth to 18 years old

Day shifts, 4x12 hours per week, 7 : 00 AM - 7 : 30 PM

Weekend shifts required every other weekend

Float required primarily to NICU and CVICU but may include other units

No call requirements

Uses Cerner for charting and documentation

Patient population includes metabolic, respiratory, endocrinology, oncology, neurosurgical, trauma, and cardiology cases

Specialized procedures include management of arterial lines, conscious sedation, CRRT, and ECMO

Will be expected to work at least 2 out of 3 major holidays during the assignment

Maximum of 7 days of requested time off allowed; no RTO within the first week of assignment

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Travelers are given priority for floating assignments

Must complete orientation modules, up to 8 hours, during orientation

Cannot have worked as a permanent staff member in the facility in the last year

Return staff must be separated for at least one year before reapplying

Candidates with assignment history greater than 8 weeks at similar high-volume, high-acuity facilities are preferred

Candidates flagged as DNR from specific organizations may not be considered

Requirements Valid CA RN license must be in hand for consideration

Minimum 1.5 years of recent high-acuity, high-census PICU experience required

Certifications required : BLS, ACLS, PALS

Experience with Cerner charting system required

Two references from supervisor-level or above within the past year or most recent employer in the relevant unit

Locals not accepted; candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility
