Sourcing Specialist
As a Sourcing Specialist, you will execute sourcing transactions and support category initiatives to enable tactical and strategic activities. You will collaborate with the Strategic Sourcing team and many of their key stakeholders. This work will directly impact Zillow's ability to deliver cost savings, manage risk, and transact a large volume of contracts, RFx's, and supplier inquiries.
Core Sourcing Activities
Lead daily sourcing operations including contract negotiations, RFx launches, market research, and supplier relationship management.
Manage tactical deals and facilitate end-to-end sourcing requests : initiate RFx processes, lead negotiations, oversee contracting, and maintain supplier relationships throughout sourcing events.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Legal, Finance, and business units to support procurement activities and ensure alignment with company goals.
Engage stakeholders in the Negotiation Planning Process, including kickoff meetings, status updates, and escalation coordination ahead of renewals or new purchases.
Process & Policy Alignment
Support documentation of sourcing processes, intake workflows, and policy compliance.
Develop and implement standardized supplier agreements, amendments, and best practices for professional services sourcing.
Supplier Strategy & Optimization
Align with business units on supplier strategy and value creation plans.
Analyze spend data and supplier performance to identify cost savings, risk mitigation, and opportunities for innovation.
Collaborate with Supplier Management on reviews, scorecards, qualifications, and onboarding.
Strategic Advisory & Support
Serve as a trusted sourcing advisor to business stakeholders, offering guidance and insights.
Provide backup support for Sourcing Managers on complex engagements.
Skills and Requirements
Must Haves :
4+ years in similar strategic sourcing / procurement roles with multi-national companies, ideally within a technology or mortgage focused procurement setting
Experience in negotiation, with a demonstrable track-record in sourcing activities
Experience using various sourcing software like Workday, Scout, Coupa, SAP-Ariba or similar software
Ad-hoc sourcing experience
Desire to understand total cost of ownership (TCO), root causes, and systemic problems / opportunities
Have outstanding time management, organization, and prioritization skills
Plusses :
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Supply Chain, Accounting, or Business Administration An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted
Certifications including PMP, CSP, CPSM, CPM, etc.
Advanced skills in Excel and experience gathering data from financial systems
