Overview
As the Information Technology Communication Technician II, you will join the Telecommunication Services Team in the role of a RF 2-way Radio / Microwave Technician. You will perform installation, maintenance, and repair work on microwave systems, 2-way radio systems, DC power systems, VOIP telephone systems, and data networks. You will assist in providing technical support of communication systems, track and monitor communication hardware and software, handle day-to-day service requests, and provide customer assistance for solutions. You must be able to lift heavy equipment weighing 50 pounds or more, climb and work on towers at high elevation, and operate vehicles in off-road and rugged terrain conditions.
Schedule : 44 / 36, Monday through Friday with every other Friday off. Monday through Thursday 9 hours per day, and 8 hours per day every other Friday.
Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience : High school diploma or High School equivalency certification, two years of relevant experience, and completion of 40 semester units from an accredited college, university, vocational or military school.
Relevant Experience is defined as hands-on experience in climbing towers, installation of batteries and rectifiers, maintaining and repairing microwave equipment and Motorola two-way radios, working on antennas and waveguides, copper and fiber cabling, and rack and stack of communications equipment.
Certifications, Licenses, and Registration Requirements
License(s) : Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
