BakerRipley is seeking a highly organized and strategic Public Grants Writer to lead the development, submission, and management of public grant proposals supporting resilience, recovery, and community development initiatives across the Texas Gulf Coast region. This position is responsible for identifying funding opportunities, crafting compelling proposals and reports, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals and community needs.
Success Metrics
Key Responsibilities
Research and identify public funding opportunities from federal, state, and local agencies.
Write clear, compelling proposals, letters of inquiry, and grant reports tailored to funder requirements.
Collaborate with program staff to gather data, narratives, and impact metrics for proposals and reports.
Align grant submissions with BakerRipley’s strategic priorities and resilience frameworks.
Co-manage the grants calendar, ensuring timely submission of proposals, renewals, and reports.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of grant activities, deadlines, and funder communications.
Monitor grant compliance and support post-award reporting and documentation.
Cultivate relationships with public funders and grant‑making agencies.
Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to support collaborative funding efforts.
Represent BakerRipley in funding‑related meetings, briefings, and regional convenings.
Lead the development and submission of public grant proposals by guiding staff through the grant process and cycle, from opportunity identification to final submission, while acting as the primary writer and coordinator.
Design and implement standardized toolkits, templates, and training resources to enhance organizational efficiency and consistency in grant writing and reporting.
Provide strategic support to community partners in identifying, developing, and pursuing collaborative public funding opportunities that align with shared goals and regional priorities.
Develop and disseminate impact narratives that highlight funded program outcomes.
Contribute to public‑facing reports and strategic communications that elevate BakerRipley’s resilience and recovery work.
Document lessons learned and promising practices to inform future grant strategies.
