Blazer Jobs is seeking a credentialed Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) to complete a single evaluation for a student in Houston, TX. Houston is home to one of the largest and most diverse school systems in the country, offering a strong network of professionals serving visually impaired students.
Requirements (Texas) :
Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) through ACVREP.
Eligible for or hold Texas licensure.
Prior experience conducting evaluations in K12 school settings.
Responsibilities :
Perform a comprehensive orientation and mobility evaluation.
Assess the students functional vision and independent navigation skills.
Provide written recommendations to support student access and safety in the school environment.
Collaborate with district staff regarding next steps and instructional planning.
