About The Position

License : Associate's Degree or equivalent in a related field required

Certifications :

BLS

ARRT (MRI) required

Preferred certifications include ARMRIT, CRT-Clienttion Therapist, CRT-Radiographer, CRT-Sonographer, CRT-Nuc Med Technologist, CRT-Vascular Technologist, CRT-Musculoskeletal

Must-Have : Ability to operate GE MRI equipment proficiently

Description :

Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, performs diagnostic MR exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment and techniques.

Follows philosophy of Patient and Family Centered Care at all times.

Verifies patient identification and physician order, and performs quality MR scans.

Provides procedural information and education to the patient and family prior to each exam.

Acquires an accurate patient history and documents in the medical record.

Places IVs as required for injection of contrast media.

Performs procedures according to MR protocol.

Ensures MRI safety form is completed by patient or designee and reviews information with patient or designee immediately prior to entering MRI scanning room.

Safely and proficiently operates MR imaging equipment and monitors patient during examination to ensure their safety while in the MR Suite.

Performs MRI and related patient care procedures using age-appropriate methods for patient’s physical ability and / or limitations.

Ensures equipment is wiped down between patients and the exam room is clean and properly stocked with linen and supplies.

Uses effective inter-departmental communication and participation with medical staff, management, technical, and support staff.

Accurately and efficiently uses hospital computer systems for verifying orders, viewing schedules, and sending information to PACS.
