Overview

LG Magna e-Powertrain USA, Inc. is a newly established U.S. subsidiary formed by a joint venture between LG Electronics Vehicle Solution and Magna International. Located in Southeast Michigan, we provide engineering, sales and quality solutions for electric vehicle drive motors, power conversion devices and integrated systems.

Job Purpose

Power Electronics Engineer to support electric vehicle powertrain development, collaborating with customers and HQ engineering to deploy advanced technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Support customer technical communication to ensure accurate customer requirements.
  • Attend Production Development Team meetings and urgent problem meetings.
  • Maintain engineering specifications, DFMEAs, DVP&Rs during development.
  • Support APQP, DFM / DFA and IATF 16949 compliance, define and verify critical characteristics.
  • Provide on-site engineering service at customer locations for software reflash, sample delivery and correction.
  • Assist root cause analysis of warranty products : analyze root cause, execute swap test, conduct physical breakdown, communicate with HQ engineers.
  • Support technical risk reporting based on customer communication : provide recommendations to relevant teams, communicate with HQ and global cross-functional team.
  • Participate in technical information discussions and data gathering for RFQ / RFP and quoting : support HQ review materials, act as technical window person, elevate summaries of deliverables.
  • Perform technical research and benchmarking for new business opportunities : assist proposals, provide continuous improvement ideas.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or electronic engineering.
  • Experience in development engineering in automotive industry.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor analysis (MOSFET, diode, gate drive, OP-amp, digital circuits).
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, control system configurations and standardized work instructions.
  • Skill in circuit analysis equipment : oscilloscope, function generator, power supply.
  • Knowledge of selecting electrical components and designing analog / digital circuits.
  • Adaptability to flexible work schedules and time-zone communication.
  • Proficient in MS Project, MS Office, MS Teams.
  • A passion for discovery and learning.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in power electronics engineering, converter and inverter technologies.
  • Bilingual in English and Korean.
