Institutional Giving Officer
The Institutional Giving Officer is responsible for managing the agency's private grants from philanthropic foundations and corporate sponsors. This officer will oversee all private grants management for the Development team, including managing the annual grants calendar, researching and writing proposals, preparing supportive documentation and testimonials, and overseeing philanthropy strategies to support the Montrose Center's mission. This role works closely with the Chief Development Officer (CDO), program staff and finance team to ensure accurate budgets, timely submissions and strong donor engagement.
Key responsibilities include implementing annual and long-term fundraising plans, increasing foundation and corporate grant applications, and managing donor stewardship and reporting. The manager also oversees administrative tasks such as Salesforce record-keeping, reporting, and maintaining grant files.
Responsibilities :
- Grants Management
- Manage the Development grant calendar for timely submissions and reporting.
- Research, write and prepare for submission all exploratory foundation and corporate grants for programs and services within the mission of the Center.
- Identify corporate, foundation and community group prospects and cultivate existing sponsors under the strategy of the Chief Development Officer.
- Implement annual fundraising plan each fiscal year that incorporates strategies to support and renew current grants, while expanding and diversifying the funding base.
- Prepare grant budget with oversight by the Chief Development Officer.
- Meet all grant deadlines for submission for proposals and reports with executive leadership review and approval.
- Collaborate with program staff for accuracy on program descriptions and key performance metrics.
- Manage engagement of Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and corporate volunteer opportunities and events in collaboration with the Community Engagement Coordinator.
- Work closely with marketing and development staff to ensure sponsors receive full benefits and recognition.
- Represent the Montrose Center at community or networking events as needed.
- Perform other duties, within all areas of the department, as assigned by the Chief Development Officer

- Provide accurate tracking of donor activity into Salesforce CRM.
- Maintain updated electronic copies of all proposals and submissions under guidelines of the Development team.
Education, Training, Skills, Knowledge and Abilities :
Bachelor's degree required in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Business, Public Administration, Public Health or relevant field. Three years successful experience in fundraising, grants, or technical writing preferred.Exceptional oral and written communication skills are mandatory.Ability work under short deadlines and multi-task.Salesforce or donor database CRM experience preferred.Access to reliable transportation, a current Texas Driver's License and auto insurance.Equal Opportunity Employer
