RN Position Job Notes :

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details :

Work in a 16-bed Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit

Patient ratios : 1 : 2, or 1 : 1 for certain device patients

Scheduling requirements include 2 weekends per month, 1 summer holiday (Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day), and 2 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

Float as needed, typically to other ICUs but may include other floors

Required certifications : ACLS, BLS

Strong critical care experience required, including CVICU experience

Skills with PA catheter and hemodynamic monitoring required

Preferred experience with IABP, Impella, and CRRT

Provide care to immediate post-operative cardiac surgery patients, including ECMO, Centrimags, and HM3 LVADS

Perform central line insertion, swan insertion, intubations on unit

Work with Phillips bedside telemetry monitors, Hill-Rom beds, Alaris IV pumps

Use Meditech documentation system

Dress code requires black, red, or galaxy blue scrubs, scrub jackets / vests only

Intensivist assigned to unit 24 / 7

Unit secretary and Administrative Care Tech available Monday-Friday 7 : 30 AM-3 : 30 PM

Free floating charge nurse available to assist staff

The unit works with 5 full-time surgeons performing high-volume and advanced cardiac surgeries, and maintains a strong driven team of nurses with excellent teamwork and collaboration.
