Anesthesia & Hospitalist Program Coordinator
The Anesthesia & Hospitalist Program Coordinator provides overall administrative and clerical support for the Anesthesia and Medicine Hospitalist Program. The role may provide any or all of the following services : produces correspondence, organizes and maintains files, prepares moderately complex spreadsheets and reports, schedules meetings and appointments, answers telephones, enters payroll and accounts payables, orders supplies, provides billing information, facilitates medical staff credentialing, and responds to all other administrative and clerical support requests as directed. The Anesthesia & Hospitalist Program Coordinator assists the department staff with issues and projects and responds appropriately to operational inquiries. The Anesthesia & Hospitalist Program Coordinator develops and implements office procedures and processes that support efficient and accurate operations. In addition, this role will perform complex administrative work, such as report and presentation material preparation, functioning planning and scheduling, development and distribution of meeting agendas and minutes, and assistance with functional operations as required. This position may also have administrative responsibilities for an organizational Board or a Board Committee. This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to team work and cooperation.
EDUCATION : High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's or Associate's degree preferred.
LICENSE / CERTIFICATION : N / A
EXPERIENCE : Minimum 3-5 years administrative experience required, preferably within a multi-functional medical practice office. Well-developed communication, interpersonal and organizational skills required. Proficiency with word processing, database and spreadsheet computer applications required. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT : Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury. Position requires desk / computer work for a majority of the time. Requires some walking and standing and occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. Position requires increased amounts of repetitive motion with regard to typing. The essential functions for this position are listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP : This position reports to the Administrative Director, Department of Anesthesiology.
