General Summary :

Unum is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain data systems and pipelines that ensure data is accessible and optimized for analytics and insight generation. The role requires technical expertise in programming, database management, and data architecture, along with growing business acumen.

The Data Engineer will be responsible for building and maintaining the data infrastructure necessary to support accurate, timely, and scalable reporting. With support from the manager, this individual will develop and implement data engineering strategies that align with business priorities.

This position requires a minimum of 3 days in office in the following campus locations : Chattanooga, TN or Portland, ME.

Job Specifications

Demonstrated communication skills, experience in financial services, exposure to working with senior management and executive leadership, and attention to detail while effectively prioritizing work and managing multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to understand and explain a problem and identify and communicate an appropriate solution.

Developing ability to coach or mentor team members, ability to commit quickly and positively to change. Viewed as embracing change and leading proof of concept work and prototyping when necessary.

Entrepreneurial self-starter, a thorough, results-oriented problem-solver, and a lifelong learner with voracious curiosity AND basic understanding of their organization.

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.

$60,500.00-$123,400.00

Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not.
