Location : Gainesville, FL

This position supports the Florida Conservation Corps (FLCC) AmeriCorps program, located within the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. The FLCC is a statewide program with staff and AmeriCorps members serving across state parks and regional offices. The program focuses on conservation, preservation, interpretation, resource-based recreation, and disaster response support.

Responsibilities

• Manage fiscal operations for the FLCC AmeriCorps program, including overseeing the program budget and processing monthly invoices and payroll.
• Organize disaster response logistics and support day-to-day program operations.
• Prepare and submit monthly grant-compliant invoices for reimbursement; coordinate with the grantor and internal budget teams to resolve discrepancies or provide clarifications.
• Monitor and track program expenditures to ensure budgetary compliance and grant match requirements.
• Procure goods and services using MyFloridaMarketPlace (MFMP) and state contracts; obtain vendor quotes, create purchase orders, and manage gear purchases.
• Deliver training sessions for AmeriCorps members (e.g., chainsaw safety, CPR / Basic First Aid) and other relevant topics.
• Understand disaster response protocols and be prepared to deploy with AmeriCorps teams to affected areas, providing logistical and operational support during deployments.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

Knowledge of : State budgeting processes and financial procedures; computer operations and software (Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and other relevant tools); disaster response protocols and safety procedures.

Skills in : Budget management and financial tracking; clear and effective verbal and written communication; utilizing virtual platforms (Teams, Zoom); preparing accurate and timely reports; conflict resolution and interpersonal communication.

Abilities : Speak confidently in both small and large groups; assist in planning and coordinating large-scale events; follow instructions with attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision; interpret and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; collaborate with diverse teams; apply critical thinking and problem-solving; maintain a valid driver's license and travel as required; uphold professional standards and represent the program with integrity; adapt to a fast-paced environment.
