SPEECH THERAPIST / SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST (ST PRN) PER DIEM

This position does not need to regularly be in the office, but will require a valid drivers license, proof of insurance, and a reliable personal automobile for local travel to provide care to clients in the Denton, Texas area.

Job Summary :

Qualicare is looking for a highly skilled and compassionate Speech Pathologist to join our team! As a Speech Pathologist, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care, promoting speech function, and enhancing overall health and well-being.

Responsibilities :

Evaluating levels of swallowing, speech and language difficulty

Identifying treatment options

Creating and carrying out individualized treatment plans addressing specific functional needs

Teaching patients how to make sounds while improving their voices and maintaining fluency

Helping individuals improve sentence structure and vocabulary used in written and oral language

Working with adults and children in developing and strengthening muscles used to swallow

Timely and accurate documentation

Skills :

Initial and ongoing systematic patient assessment

Familiarity with Oasis and start of care documentation

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Interpreting assessment / diagnostic data including medical notes and surgery reports

Ensuring medical orders are transcribed and processed accurately

Promoting continuous quality improvement

Instructing and counseling patients and families as needed

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks efficiently

Commitment to providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of the organization

QUALIFICATIONS :

Master's Degree Speech Language Pathology Required Or Other Post-Baccalaureate degree recognized by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Required

Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)

State license as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Texas through TDLR

Minimum one year experience in a home healthcare setting

Ability to provide patient care in a variety of settings, including home community care.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

A passion for delivering high-quality patient care and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

Strong knowledge of medical terminology and ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.

Experience with case management and patient service.

Experience working with patients with a range of diagnoses.

A commitment to ongoing professional development and a desire to stay current with best practices.
