POSITION SUMMARY

For more than 80 years, we’ve led the charge in revolutionizing pet food production and its ability to enrich the lives of pets everywhere. By 1956, through innovative engineering, we literally reshaped pet care, introducing Dog Chow® as the first extruded dry food. We’re still at it today, with Tidy Cats®, the lightweight cat litter champion of the world and Pro Plan Bright Mind®, a breakthrough formula with enhanced botanical oils shown to promote alertness and mental sharpness in aging dogs. Such leadership requires constant innovation and renovation, which is so often rooted in engineering.

As a Controls Technical Specialist, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining and enhancing the accuracy, reliability and system control’s data credibility of PLC and PC-based automation systems. In this role, you will oversee PLC upgrades and wiring modifications on production equipment, and work directly with our maintenance team to troubleshoot and support production line modifications.

Configure, program and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controls (PLC)

Perform preventive maintenance for controls and organize electrical / control parts inventory

Provide programming and electrical support on plant capital projects

Implement control systems software upgrade

Provide instrumentation, PLC and HMI / SCADA software and hardware support to plant maintenance staff

Assist with training of maintenance personnel

Requirements

Associate’s Degree in a technical discipline AND 1+ years of applicable experience in PLC software and Electrical / hardware troubleshooting and / or PC-based HMI-systems

OR

High School Diploma or GED equivalent AND 3+ years of applicable experience in PLC software and Electrical / hardware troubleshooting and / or PC-based HMI-systems

The approximate pay range for this position is $62,000-$83,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
