Overview

Rhode Island College’s Film Studies Program is looking to grow its adjunct pool to staff future courses (Spring 2026 and beyond). We seek part-time instructors to teach Introduction to Film, our general education film studies course.

Responsibilities

  • Teach 1 section (4 FLH) of FILM 116 : Introduction to Film.
  • Occasional duties : Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Department Chair.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Experience providing instruction on both the stylistic and the cultural dimensions of cinema.
  • Required Qualifications

  • M.A. in either film studies or media studies. Applicants with an M.A. in cultural studies with a focus on film / media analysis will also be considered.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • College teaching experience, knowledge in overlapping, interdisciplinary topics as they relate to cinema studies courses.
  • Environmental Conditions

    Teaching / instruction is performed in a smart classroom setting.
