Founded in 1964 by George Jenkins, Lone Palm is one of the premier private golf clubs in Central Florida with the following mission : Lone Palm is a great place to meet and play golf with friends, dine, attend functions, relax, and socialize, all in an informal atmosphere supported by a friendly staff.
One of the most beautiful courses in Central Florida, Lone Palm is set on nearly 400 acres of beautiful scenery and wildlife. The 18-hole, championship course provides both challenge and enjoyment for professionals and novices alike. Designed in 1965 by legendary golf course architect, Dick Wilson and renovated by Steve Smyers in 2022, Lone Palm has played host to many professional, amateur, and charity tournaments. The course winds its way through serene Florida landscape providing breathtaking views along the way.
Experience Required
- Registered PGA Associate working towards Class A or Class A member preferred but not required.
- Previous experience in a golf-related role or relevant education in golf management.
- Private club experience preffered.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to provide excellent customer service.
- Knowledge of golf equipment, rules, and etiquette.
- Experience with golf instruction and the ability to teach players of different skill levels.
Essential Responsibilities
The Assistant Golf Professional will assist in the management of day-to-day golf operations at the facility. All duties of the position shall be performed with a commitment to the highest level of member and guest service with a focus on total member satisfaction.
Job Tasks / Duties : The team member’s job duties include, but are not limited to :
Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operations.Conduct oneself in a professional manner and maintain a professional image at all times.Service and member focused attitude.Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills.Experienced computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel. Proficient in other applications, i.e. email, internet, tournament, database & POS.Proficiency in the operation of tournament software (Golf Genius preferred.)Work with and assist in coordinating golf activities with other departments.Assist in tournament planning, promotion, preparation, scoring, announcements, billing, and follow-up.Assist with all opening / closing procedures and POS operation.Self-motivated with desire to promote and market golf shop merchandise.Assist in the inventory control of hard goods, soft goods, and special orders including : ordering procedures, receiving procedures, point of sale transactions, pricing procedures, display and sales.Assist with management of outside service staff to ensure the highest quality of service is achieved.Provide golf instruction to members of all skill levels.Play with Members of all levels on a regular basis.Benefits
