The Financial Counseling Specialist partners with Social Workers / Care Coordinators / Case Managers and other members of a patient's care team to assist patients with navigating their insurance benefits, applying for benefits, including financial assistance, and understanding their financial responsibilities for emergency department care, acute hospital care and post-acute care. The Financial Counseling Specialist works on-site at their assigned hospital campus, and as needed, may be required to remotely support other campuses.

Position : Patient Financial Counselor

Shift : Day. Mon-Fri. Onsite.

Experience :

2-3 years in healthcare billing experience and / or accounts receivable experience is required. 1 year of Microsoft Office applications; knowledge of insurance contracts, billing regulations and medical terminology required.

Education :

High School Diploma / GED required. Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Licensures / Certifications :

Certified Revenue Cycle Specialist (CRCS) / American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management (AAHAM), or Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) / Healthcare Financial Management Association desirable.
