True Crime News is a digital brand that was born out of the former daily syndicated show “Crime Watch Daily.” We have more than 3.3 million fans on Facebook and more than 5.5 million subscribers on YouTube, as well as a thriving website and social channels.

We are seeking a digital writer who loves covering, reading about, reporting on, and writing about true crime stories to assist us in taking our digital brand to the next level. Our goal is to grow our channels by creating engaging content tailored to each platform.

Job Responsibilities

  • Writing 5-7 crime stories daily for TrueCrimeNews.com.
  • Posting daily content on each of our social channels : Facebook, X, TikTok, Instagram.
  • Monitoring statistics to determine what is and isn’t working.
  • Help discover new ways to monetize the site and social channels.
  • Contribute to weekly True Crime News podcast as needed.
  • Responsible for monitoring metrics closely and analyzing what does and doesn’t work best on the platform to maximize views.

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience as a web writer or producer.
  • Excellent writer who works quickly and efficiently.
  • Experience working in a content management system.
  • You don’t need to be micro-managed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be reliable and a self-starter.
  • Have experience crafting engaging and SEO-friendly headlines.
  • Have a collaborative nature and a sense of humor.
  • Have a working knowledge of AP style.
  • Work well in a fast-paced environment, deadline-driven, and work quickly and efficiently.

    • Salary range is $70K-$90K, depending on experience.
