About The Position

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, PALS

Must-Have :

• Critical care experience and competencies with ICU cases including hemodynamic drips and ventilated patients.
• Comfortability with PreOp, Recovery, and Discharge of patients.
• Ability to manage boarded patients if the hospital census is full and inpatient beds are unavailable.

Description :

This position involves working in a unit with 24 Pre-Op / Phase 2 beds and 19 PACU beds.

Patient populations range from infants to geriatric patients, with limited recovery of infants.

Trained individuals will assist in the preparation and discharge of endoscopy patients but will not work intraoperatively.

Patient ratios are 1 : 2-3, PACU 1 : 1 or 1 : 2, Phase 2 1 : 2-4, depending on acuity levels and special monitoring needs.

The successful candidate must be capable of IV insertion, ventilator training, and initiation of blood product transfusions.

Competency in administering and monitoring moderate sedation is required.

Support on the unit includes a nurse aide staff presence during daytime hours and clinical resource nurses available Monday through Friday.

Nurses draw their own labs or may call for lab assistance as necessary.

There is an available respiratory therapy team for unit support.

Weekends and call shifts are part of the scheduling requirements for this role.

Each caregiver shares responsibility for call rotation and holiday coverage.

Time off requests must be submitted to management for approval.

Navy blue scrubs are required for this position.
