Overview
KNM is retained to identify a Fiduciary Accountant to lead a small team. The selected professional will cross-train with the retiring department leader over a period of several months and assume that role. Our client is located in downtown NYC and offers a hybrid work arrangement, competitive compensation, and generous PTO. The ideal professional will have 7+ years’ experience as a fiduciary accountant at a bank, law firm or public accounting firm along with some supervisory experience. Responsibilities
- Assist trusts and estates attorneys in the administration of trusts, estates and charitable foundations.
- Prepare federal and state estate tax returns including valuing assets
- Prepare federal gift tax returns and personal federal and state income tax returns
- Prepare federal and state fiduciary income tax returns for all types of trusts, including charitable remainder unitrusts, and estates
- Prepare information returns for charitable organizations
- Prepare personal federal and state income tax and annual gift tax returns
- Calculate executors’ and trustees’ commissions
- Maintain detailed financial records of estates and trusts from inception to termination
- Prepare projections for planning purposes
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required.7+ years’ experience as a fiduciary accountant at a bank, law firm or public accounting firm.Knowledge of Thomson Reuters FPS (Onesource) Estate and Gift Tax and Accounting.Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
