Job Description

Job Description

Lighting Maintenance Inc. (LMI) is seeking a Sports Lighting Mechanic  with hands-on installation experience, and a solid background in lighting system builds and takedowns. If you've worked on stadiums, sports fields, or large outdoor lighting systems — and know your way around layout, wiring, trenching, and equipment — you’re exactly who we’re looking for.

We’re not a typical construction outfit — we specialize in high-output lighting systems that power everything from youth sports complexes to college stadiums. Our projects involve demo of old systems , installation of new poles, wiring, and controls , and bringing fields to life under the lights.

What You’ll Do :

  • Lead sports lighting installs – from pole setting to aiming the lights
  • Oversee demo of existing systems (lighting, concrete bases, control panels)
  • Handle site layout, trenching, conduit runs, and system wiring
  • Operate and manage equipment (bucket trucks, mini-excavators, augers, etc.)
  • Coordinate with project managers, crew, and subs to stay on schedule
  • Maintain clean documentation, manage crew timesheets, and track equipment

What We’re Looking For :

  • 5+ years of construction leadership (sports lighting experience highly preferred)
  • Strong mechanical background with ability to install, troubleshoot, and adjust lighting systems
  • Hands-on experience with demo, trenching, conduit, pole setting, and aiming
  • Equipment operator skills – safe use of excavators, lifts, and concrete tools
  • Ability to read plans, follow specs, and lay out lighting projects accurately
  • Electrical experience a plus
  • Must be willing to travel regionally as needed
  • What You Get :

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Prescription coverage
  • Paid holidays and PTO
  • Employer-paid life and disability insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match
  • A team that knows and respects sports lighting pros
  • Light Up the Game – Join LMI

This is your chance to build fields that communities gather around. If you're looking to put your mechanical and leadership skills to work in a specialized, high-impact role, we want to talk.

Apply now — or send us your resume and a list of projects you've lit up.
