Automation Engineer / System Administrator

Job Description

Catalyx is seeking an Automation Engineer / System Administrator to support our team’s daily operations and ongoing automation projects. This is a hybrid role combining elements of engineering automation, project coordination, and system administration. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, flexible, and ready to grow within a collaborative technical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily automation and system operations, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of existing tools and infrastructure.
• Assist in the design, deployment, and documentation of automation workflows to improve operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project execution, including tracking milestones, reporting progress, and managing documentation.
• Maintain system configurations, user access controls, and perform routine system administration tasks.
• Provide support for installation, setup, and maintenance of lab or IT systems (as applicable), excluding robotics, vision systems, or liquid handling platforms.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the continuous optimization of internal systems and procedures.
• Participate in training and development opportunities to expand skill sets in automation and systems support.

Requirements

Robotics / Vision Engineer with strong experience in liquid handling systems to join our multidisciplinary engineering team. This individual will be responsible for the design, programming, integration, troubleshooting, and documentation of robotic and machine vision systems used in laboratory automation or similar environments. The role also includes providing administrative support to ensure seamless execution of technical projects and compliance with internal standards.
