Position Overview

The Pre-K Teacher will deliver developmentally appropriate instruction, create engaging lesson plans aligned with state and district standards, and maintain a nurturing classroom environment. Knowledge of PA PreK Counts is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

Demonstrate mastery of early childhood education subject matter, instructional skills, and resource materials

Create lesson plans aligned with Pennsylvania state and district standards

Drive instruction through formative assessment and differentiated learning

Maintain strong classroom and behavioral management

Foster social, emotional, and academic growth in Pre-K students

Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and school leadership to support student success

Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance

Ensure compliance with all district policies and Pennsylvania regulations

Qualifications

Active Pennsylvania Special Education certification / licensure ( SPED ) required

Bachelors degree required for emergency teaching permit

Active certification preferred

Experience teaching in a Pre-K classroom required

Knowledge of PA PreK Counts is a plus

Strong classroom and behavioral management skills

Experience working in an urban setting

Comfort and familiarity with the district and location

Ability to complete all required Pennsylvania clearances
