In this role, you will assist in developing and implementing patient treatment plans under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. You will conduct therapeutic activities, monitor patient progress, and report findings to the supervising therapist. Your responsibilities include instructing patients and families on treatment plans and therapeutic equipment, helping patients improve cognitive, physical, and emotional well-being, and maintaining accurate records of patient progress and treatments. You will also modify treatment plans in consultation with the Occupational Therapist to address individual patient needs. The position requires you to help patients perform exercises, encourage them during recovery, and teach self-care techniques to promote independence. You will keep the treatment area and equipment in good order and update patient records for the Occupational Therapist. You may also assist injured employees in improving motor skills and re-entering the workforce, and teach patients with disabilities skills for greater independence[1]?[2]?[3].
To qualify, you must hold a current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license and be skilled in supporting occupational therapy clients with mental, physical, emotional, or developmental impairments. Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems is preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and patient care skills are essential for success in this role[1]?[2]?[3].
