Program Coordinator
The Department of Psychiatry at The University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a Program Coordinator to serve as a member of the UI Addiction and Recovery Collaborative (UI ARC) team providing direct support and to assist with activities related to awarded grants. The position performs a variety of basic and complex activities involving numerous steps and is crucial in assisting the department with activities related to protocols and quality controls for project management and data collection.
Schedule : This position is primarily 1st shift, 8 : 00 AM 4 : 30 PM, Monday Friday, however, there will be some flexibility, remote work options, and an occasional need to work outside regular business hours.
Position Responsibilities :
- Function as a member of the UI ARC team that provides care, services, resources, and support to people who have substance use or mental health disorders.
- Provide support to the multidisciplinary project teams with implementation of components on multiple projects.
- Monitor project timelines and deadlines and keep team informed.
- Work with evaluators to build project databases to track project activities.
- Perform data entry and data checking with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Assist Project Directors with administrative-related needs and project tasks, including but not limited to ordering and purchasing, scheduling, printing, filing, and organizing.
- Ensure all project materials are culturally and linguistically appropriate.
- Identify and recruit students to participate in project training events.
- Coordinate and administer training surveys.
- Collaborate with media / website staff to ensure the website is up to date.
- Ensure adequate documentation is obtained and maintained in appropriate files and databases.
- Assist Evaluators with data-related needs and preparation of reporting required by funding agencies.
- Ability to work independently under time constraints and take initiative to complete tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Ability to review and offer detailed feedback.
- Ability to work in a team environment and work effectively with colleagues utilizing strong interpersonal skills.
- Able to independently manage and meet deadlines on multiple projects, be highly self-motivated, organized, and detail oriented.
- Work with other members of the team to contribute ideas and seek ways to improve assigned processes.

Required Qualifications :
A bachelor's degree in psychology, business administration, nursing, social work, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum of one-year prior experience in a support role.Prior experience with task management that demonstrates the ability to function with a high degree of independence.Must be detail-oriented with evidence of good organizational skills.Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills indicating a comfort level with a variety of communication techniques such as individual and group discussions, email, videoconferencing, and phone conversations.Proven good listening skills to include the ability to take direction; confirm accurate understanding of assignments; seek and incorporate feedback.Must be proficient in computer software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite and Excel Spreadsheets.Demonstrated experience working effectively with colleagues and ability to actively collaborate with team members.Ability to foster a welcoming and respectful workplace environment while recognizing personal differences.Desirable Qualifications :
Experience with research and data collection.Experience working with interdisciplinary teams.Demonstrated experience working with sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality regarding protected information.Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Teams.Knowledge and experience working with REDCap.Experience with contingency management programs.Supervision Received : Supervision is received from the Research Support Manager or Lead Project Director.
